Roy W Morgan owned a Chicago shop selling violins and violas. He varnished unfinished instruments from Wurlitzer Co., usually using a deep red-brown color. Morgan invented a duplicating machine for making double basses. (The Violin Makers of the United States by Thomas James Wenberg)
